Abstract
Background and objective: A healthy sexual life is an important dimension of health as well as a key component of individual, family, and social lifestyles. The social harms associated with this domain require targeted social interventions. The present study aimed to identify research priorities needed for evidence-based governance of a healthy and family-oriented sexual life in Iran, focusing on two priority areas identified by executive bodies.

Methods and Materials: This research employed a five-step qualitative approach: defining objectives and policies; extracting research topics through expert panels and specialist groups; reviewing literature and previous studies; validating the proposed topics using CVR and CVI indices; and finally documenting and disseminating the findings.

Results: The findings indicated ten core policies for planning in this field. Experts proposed at least 14 research topics for managing the two focus areas; 13 were deemed “relevant” by the validation group, and seven were emphasized as “essential” by other experts.

Conclusion: The study showed that the identified priorities—particularly in developing preventive guidelines, diagnostic protocols, and psychotherapeutic interventions—can facilitate evidence-based policymaking and decision-making in the governance of a healthy, family-oriented sexual life.
