Abstract
Background and objective: Marital commitment is important in strengthening the family and accepting its responsibilities, and it is necessary to examine the factors affecting it based on the conditions and culture of the society. The present study was conducted to determine the role of marital frustration, psychological flexibility, and emotional self-efficacy in predicting marital commitment in couples with marital conflicts.

Methods and Materials: This is a descriptive correlational study. 150 couples with marital conflicts referring to 5 counseling centers were selected based on the inclusion criteria using the available sampling method and responded to the Binai Marital Conflicts, Adams Marital Commitment, Bond Acceptance and Action, Kairs Marital Frustration, and Beverly Emotional Self-Efficacy questionnaires. Data from 132 complete questionnaires were analyzed with descriptive (frequency and mean) and inferential (multiple regression and Pearson correlation coefficient) statistical tests in SPSS 18 software.

Results: Marital commitment in couples with conflicts is predicted by marital frustration with 41% of the variance, psychological flexibility with 34%, and emotional self-efficacy with 52% of the variance. The components of emotion regulation positively and significantly (β = 0.23) and emotional alienation negatively and significantly (β = 0.23) predicted marital commitment (p < 0.01).

Conclusion: Emotional self-efficacy, emotion regulation, and emotional alienation have the greatest impact on predicting marital commitment in couples with conflicts; however, the role of marital frustration and psychological flexibility is also significant. Accordingly, appropriate interventions to control these variables seem useful in order to improve couples' marital commitment.
