Abstract
Introduction: Genetically modified products are new subjects and a subset of biotechnology that has attracted the attention of researchers and with experimental studies, they have tried to know these products and their effects. The technology of interference in plant genetics is not the subject of our discussion in this research rather, we want to know, on the assumption that laboratory intervention in plant genetics is permissible according to jurisprudential sources, is the production of these products on a large scale and its public consumption permissible from the point of view of Sharia?
Maerial and methods: Since the mentioned topic is one of the developed and interdisciplinary topics, in order to extract the legal opinion, the opinions of experts and researchers in this field should be studied first and then based on it, according to the principles and rules of jurisprudence, the legal opinion should be deduced. Therefore, the collection of data from articles, international authoritative reports and original sources of jurisprudence has been done in a library method and the aforementioned problem has been analyzed and evaluated with a descriptive and analytical approach.
Results: Whether these products are harmful or not for human health has been disputed among experts and there are conflicting research results about this. One important point is that the laboratory studies that prove the harmlessness of these products are often done at the request of the manufacturing companies and the other thing is that most of the countries of the world, even the countries that produce genetically modified seeds are subordinate to them, have banned the production of these products in their country.
Conclusion: Releasing the cultivation of genetically modified crops and Its general consumption is prohibited, both in case of damage and in case of possible damage, according to Shari'a and rational principles
