Investigating the Relationship Between Psychological Needs and Self-Regulation of Learning with Academic Procrastination in Second Secondary Female Students of Mulathani City

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between psychological needs and self-regulation of learning with academic procrastination in second secondary female students of Mollasani city. The research method of this research was a descriptive correlation type. The statistical population of this research included all the second high school female students of Mollasani city, whose number was 1600 and they were studying in the academic year of 2011-2012. 300 people were selected as a statistical sample using the Karjesi and Morgan table and the cluster sampling method. The research data collection tools included Solomon and Rothblum's procrastination scale (1984), Guardia et al.'s psychological needs questionnaire (2000), and Bouffard et al.'s (1995) learning self-regulation questionnaire. Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that there is a significant negative relationship between the psychological needs and self-regulation of learning with academic procrastination in second secondary female students of Mollasani city.
