Theological Beliefs in Mahdiism in the Sadeghain Traditions and their Function in Islamic Lifestyle

Abstract
Purpose: Believing in the appearance of Imam Mahdi, peace be upon him, is a true ideal in the beliefs of Shiites. The question is whether the theological beliefs in Mahdiism were presented to Shiites by Sadeghain one hundred years before the birth of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) or not.

Materials and methods: In this article, the author has used the descriptive-analytical method and collected the traditions issued in the field of Mahdiism from Imam Baqir (PBUH) and Imam Sadiq (PBUH), analyzes and examines them.

Findings: Traditions of the Sadeghain have great emphasis on the imminent appearance of Imam Mahdi (AJ) in Final Days, and before the Resurrection, His establishment of a government with complete justice, the last successor of the Holy Prophet (S), being Fatimid and being a descendant of Imam Hussain (PBUH), being secretly born and the son of Imam Hassan Askari (PBUH) informing about the long absence of Imam Mahdi (PBUH), the appearance of Jesus Christ (PBUH) along with the rise of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) and following him, and the revival of Islam by Him.

Conclusion: The theological beliefs of Mahdiism in Sadeghain traditions play a significant role in the growth and excellence of individual and social ethics and ultimately the evolution of the 12th Imam society.
