Structural Equation Modeling of the Relationship between Object Relations in Cluster B Personality Disorders with the Mediating Role of Cognitive Emotion Regulation

Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to explain the modeling of structural equations of the relationship between object relationships in cluster b personality disorders with the mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation.
Materials and Methods: The research method is cross-sectional correlation. The statistical population of this study consisted of all male and female students of Tehran Azad University in 1399, from which 395 people were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. In this study, Millon clinical multivariate tools, object relations (Bell et al., 1986) and cognitive emotion regulation (Garnowski and Craig, 2006) were used, all of which had acceptable validity and reliability. SPSS-V23 and Amos-V8.8 software were used to analyze the data. Structural equation modeling was also used to answer the research hypotheses.
Findings: The research findings showed that the model has a good fit. The results also showed that object relationships had a significant direct positive effect on cluster b personality disorders. Object relations have a significant direct negative effect on cognitive regulation of positive emotion. Cognitive regulation of positive emotion has a direct negative effect on cluster b personality disorders. Cognitive regulation of negative emotion also had a direct positive effect on cluster b personality disorders. Object relationships have had an indirect effect on cluster b personality disorders by regulating positive and negative emotions.
Conclusion: Based on the findings, the results showed that paying attention to the mentioned variables in prevention and designing more appropriate treatments helps researchers and therapists.
