Purpose:The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness with respect to the transformation of managers of Guilan University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: The present study is a descriptive correlational study. The statistical population of this research consists of all the deputies of basic, clinical, research and technology education and managers of Gilan medical education development offices. The sample size is 210 using the Krejcie-Morgan table. Non-random sampling method is also available.
Findings: The results of calculating the Cronbach's alpha coefficient and examining the content and structure validity (factor load analysis) show the reliability and validity of the study instrument. The results of testing the research hypotheses show that emotional intelligence, transformational leadership and leadership effectiveness have a significant relationship with each other. Analysis of causal pathways also shows that transformationalism is the mediating variable between emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness. Findings from path analysis also showed that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness with respect to managers' transformationalism.
Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, executive suggestions for improving emotional intelligence and transformational attitude in the managers of the University of Medical Sciences in order to improve the capabilities of deputies and managers in the health care system have been proposed
