Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare short-term psychotherapy and self-compassion therapy based on health and positive personality abilities in betrayed women.
Materials and Methods: This research method is quasi-experimental and for data collection, pre-test-post-test design (three groups) with two experimental groups and a control group has been used. The statistical population of the study consisted of all betrayed women referring to counseling centers and psychological services in Tehran in 2020, from which 60 people were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental groups (20 people in each group). And a control group (20 people) was assigned. The experimental group underwent intensive and short-term psychodynamic therapy for 8 sessions of 90 minutes and the experimental group based on compassion therapy received 8 sessions of 90 minutes and the control group remained on the waiting list. The tools used in the present study included competencies and values in practice (Patterson and Seligman, 2004) which were used in two stages of pre-test and post-test. Analysis of data obtained from the questionnaire was performed through spss-v23 software in two descriptive and inferential sections (analysis of covariance and multivariate analysis of covariance).
Findings: The results showed that both interventions used in this study can significantly improve the positive personality abilities of betrayed women. Also, group therapy based on short-term and intensive psychodynamics is more effective than group therapy based on compassion on improving the positive personality abilities of betrayed women in the post-test.
Conclusion: Therefore, this study, while confirming the effectiveness of short-term psychotherapy in increasing positive personality empowerment, showed that intensive and short-term psychotherapy for betrayed women can be used and can be used as a psychological intervention along with other interventions. To be placed.
