Purpose: Mathematics is one of the courses that plays a key role in how students think and mathematics education is one of the important goals of education.
Materials and Methods: One of our current problems in education is the dropout of many students in mathematics. Weaknesses in math lessons and avoidance are not always due to incompetence or difficulty in mathematics. Factors such as students' perceptions of mathematics, parents' perceptions of mathematics, friends' perceptions of mathematics, failure history, and many other factors can affect the rate of progress in mathematics.
Findings: Also, research findings indicate that the professional competencies of math teachers also play an essential role in this regard. Studies on the professional competencies of math teachers have become very important in the last few decades, especially as a result of criticizing the inefficiency of teacher training courses for the development of professionalism in teachers. The results of international studies show that improving students 'math learning requires appropriate changes in the teacher education system and the development of teachers' professional competencies.
Conclusion: Therefore, determining the professional competencies of mathematics teachers and their performance, on the one hand, indicates the prevailing conditions in the country's educational system and, on the other hand, is appropriate to the nature of the mathematics course and new findings in teaching this course.
