Identifying the Tactics of Impression Management of Employees of Education Departments of Mazandaran Province in Order to Present a Model

Abstract
Purpose:The aim of this study was to identify the impression management tactics of education staff in order to present a model in Mazandaran province.
Materials and Methods: The present study was applied in terms of purpose and quantitative research in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the study included 1660 employees of education departments in Mazandaran province. The sample size was estimated based on  Krejcie and Morgan table (293 males and 47 females). The data collection tool was a researcher-made Likert scale questionnaire of impression management with 95 questions and five options. To ensure the validity of the questionnaire, the initial questionnaire was presented to several professors of educational management and the final questionnaire was prepared by summarizing their opinions. The reliability of the research questionnaire was obtained using Cronbach's alpha coefficient α = 0.82. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling with SPSS and Smart PLS softwares.
Findings: In the present study, eight tactics (1- defensive tactic, 2- offensive tactic, 3- upward impact tactic, 4- verbal tactic, 5- non-verbal tactic, 6- supervisor-focused tactic, 7- self-focused tactic and 8- job-focused tactic ) has been identified for impression management.
Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that: 1- In the practical priority among the tactics of illustration management  the highest priority was related to the variable of self-focused tactic and the lowest priority was related to non-verbal tactic.. 2. The fit indicators of the original model, such as CFI and IFI, are all acceptable and appropriate.
