effectiveness of positive psychology on controlling anger and
rumination in married women with high marital dissatisfaction.
Materials and Methods: The current study is a semi-experimental
type in which a pre-test-post-test design was conducted with a
control group with measurement at the baseline after the
intervention and a 3-month follow-up with the control group. A
number of 30 married women with high marital dissatisfaction who
referred to couple therapy clinics in the west of Tehran between
April and May 1401, taking into account the entry criteria, were
selected from those who were willing to participate in the research
(with written consent). It was done through random replacement in
the following way and they were randomly assigned to the
experimental group (positive psychology; (n=15) and the control
group (n=15). All participants completed the anger control scale and
rumination questionnaire in three stages. Completed and measured.
Group therapy sessions were conducted in 8 90-minute sessions in
accordance with the positive psychology treatment protocol.
Hypotheses related to the effectiveness of the research interventions
were analyzed using variance analysis with repeated measurements.
Findings: The results of the present study It showed that there is no
significant difference between the three groups in the mean of anger
control and rumination in the pre-test stage, which indicates the
homogeneity of the three research groups in the pre-test stage, but
there was a significant difference between the three groups in the
post-test and follow-up stages. It can indicate the effectiveness of
the intervention on the mentioned variables and the stability of
effectiveness has been in the follow-up phase. The examination and
comparison of the experimental group and the control group also
showed that there is a significant difference between the two groups
in the components of anger control and rumination.
Conclusion: The results of this research showed that the
aforementioned treatment can be used as a psychological
intervention to improve anger control and rumination in married
women with high marital dissatisfaction
