Abstract
purpose: Mental strength and psychological security are one
of the most important and at the same time the most basic
issues of human life, which is an inevitable necessity to
provide and pay attention to. Therefore, the present study
was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness
of teaching the components of moral intelligence in the
psychological strength and psychological security of
students.
Materials and Methods: The research method was semiexperimental with a pre-test and post-test design with a
control group. The research population consisted of 10th
grade female students of the Panj district of Tehran in the
academic year of 2022-2023, from which a sample of 30
people was selected using available sampling method and
then randomly divided into two groups (experiment and
control) were divided and replaced. The data collection tool
was Clough et al.'s psychological strength scale (2002) and
Maslow's (1952) psychological security scale. The
participants of the experimental group received 8 sessions of
moral intelligence skills training, but the control group did
not receive training. The collected data were analyzed using
univariate analysis of covariance and SPSS version 22
software.
Results: The results showed that the students of the
experimental group had significantly more mental strength
and psychological security than the students of the control
group in the post-test (P<0.01).
Conclusion: By employing mental health experts,
psychologists and experienced trainers, moral intelligence
training should be used to improve the mental strength and
psychological security of students.
