Sociological Study of Domestic violence Against women with Emphasis on lived Experience (Case Study: Women Referring to Social Emergency Center)

Abstract
Purpose: Studying and investigating the phenomenon of
domestic violence against women is one of the types of
domestic violence, so the present research sought to
understand the experiences of the studied women from the
phenomenon of violence.
Materials and Methods: qualitative research method based
on phenomenological theory. The research population
includes women between 20 and 54 years of age who referred
to the Social Emergency Center of Shahriar city, 20 of them
were selected through purposive sampling. The data collection
method was done through semi-structured interviews in depth
and through open questions. Thematic analysis method was
used for data analysis.
Findings: In the results of the research, three main and
comprehensive themes have been obtained in the form of 17
sub-themes from the analysis of the interviews. Also, in order
to draw the theme network as a result of the theme analysis,
44 sub-factors (semantic units) were also extracted.
Conclusion: The results of the influence of patriarchy and
patriarchy in the form of long-standing culture and tradition,
discrimination and inequality, exercising power and influence
in decision-making and expressing opinions by men, women's
lack of awareness of their rights and the lack of laws to protect
women is.
