Purpose: The current research intends to identify and
determine the appropriate model for a social university with a
sustainable development approach in Islamic Azad University.
Materials and methods: descriptive survey research method,
qualitative focus group interviews, the statistical population
was the full-time faculty members of the Islamic Azad
University of Isfahan province, which included experts and
academic specialists who had the most information about
sustainable development and social university. The data from
the quantitative part of the Analytical Hierarchy Process
(AHP) and in order to prioritize the appropriate model, 20
people were selected as the available statistical sample. Also,
a semi-structured interview was used, and the inconsistency
rate for the questionnaire extracted from the interviews was
less than 1. was 0.0 and it was confirmed. To analyze the data,
first the descriptive method of analysis and then the
hierarchical method were used.
Findings: The results of the research indicate that in the
component of sustainable development, grounding criteria
with a weight of 0.134, lateralization criteria with a weight of
0.118, foundation criteria with a weight of 0.085, opportunity
creation criteria with a weight of 0.073 And the criterion of
efficiency management with a weight of 0.069 is in the first to
fifth priorities.
Conclusion: Also, in the social university component,
effective curriculum criteria with a weight of 0.179, executive
structure criteria with a weight of 0.133, necessary platform
criteria with a weight of 0.109, school development criteria
with a weight of 0.083, and communication space criteria and
Social with a weight of 0.060 is in the first to fifth priorities.
