Abstract
Purpose: The market is one of the most important social and urban spaces of any society, it forms an intertwined network of social, economic and even political relations next to other public buildings and has played a decisive role as a factor in shaping the ossification and physical structure in Islamic countries. The purpose of this research is to study the historical course of the role and function of the market in social health and Islamic society.
Materials and Methods: In this study, which was conducted in an analytical-historical way, the data were collected and analyzed through library studies.
Findings: The market was the main and economic axis of the city, where the production and distribution centers of various goods, important warehouses and monetary exchanges were located. The market is considered to be from the most superficial to the deepest aspect of urban culture, according to this, the type of spaces and the special use of the considered spaces in the periods of history until our era, the market or commercial centers, determine the type of culture of their period.
Conclusion: Markets, in addition to being used as commercial spaces, have their own specific uses and are not only commercial, but are cultural symbols throughout history. Today, Islamic countries with rich resources of oil, gas and other resources have been able to seize the power of the world market, and this power requires the solidarity of all Islamic countries to promote production and completion and other things that will strengthen the power of the Islamic market in the world.
