The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Quality of Life in Medical Library and Information Science Students of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences in 2018

Abstract
Purpose: Quality of life is one of the most important health issues, and identifying affecting factors can help improve it. On the other hand, one of the most important variables affecting the quality of life is emotional intelligence. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and quality of life in Medical Library and Information Sciences students of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: this is descriptive-correlational study that was done on  81 students of Medical Library and Information Sciences at Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. The study data were collected using the sharing emotional intelligence questionnaire (1996) and the Ferrans and Powers Quality of Life questionnaire (1984). All analyzes were performed at the significant level of 0.05..
Findings: The results showed that the mean of emotional intelligence and quality of life of students were 113.87 and 137.40, respectively. Data analysis showed that emotional intelligence has a significant effect on quality of life. This means that by increasing one unit of emotional intelligence, the quality of life mean increases 0.68 units.
Conclusion: Considering that we are in the age of changes and challenges in the field of information, it is necessary to focus on the emotional intelligence of library students and increase their quality of life.
