Analysis of the Concepts and Functions of Non-Verbal Communication in Islamic Texts, A Case Study of Jami's SelseleYe Al-Zahab Masnavi

Abstract
Linguistic communication is usually accompanied by other 
communication methods such as movement behaviors, which 
are called non-verbal or extra-linguistic communication. Nonverbal communication in the speech process can have 
substitute, emphasizing or denying roles, although sometimes 
they play several roles together. Some researchers consider 
non-verbal communication more important than verbal 
communication in some situations; Because the transfer of 
meanings and meanings takes place more than non-verbal 
behaviors. Therefore, in this research, an attempt is made to 
investigate the non-verbal communication in Jami's Al-Zahb 
through a descriptive-analytical method. Determining the nonverbal components in this Masnava is the main goal and the 
classification and function of non-verbal communication is a 
secondary research goal. Communication is one of the main 
goals of language. The result of this research shows that Jami 
has used most of the non-verbal communication elements in 
this Masnavi and the elements that have been used the most 
are functions related to body movement 204 cases, objects 88, 
visual communication 86, face concepts 76, lip and mouth 
concepts 76 and... Also, the studies show that the concepts and 
messages that were transmitted through this method played a 
complementary and essential role in the transmission of the 
desired concepts.
