Sociological Approach to Empowering the Middle-aged And Elderly by Considering their Native Knowledge (Case study: Agriculture of Taleghan and its Suburbs)

Abstract
Purpose: The main purpose of this research is to know the 
local agricultural knowledge of middle-aged and elderly 
people in Taleghan and its suburbs.
Materials and methods: To achieve this goal, two 
documentary methods and grounded theory were used. And to 
collect information, semi-structured and unstructured 
interviews, library and document study have been used. 
Sampling in this research was random.
Findings: According to the findings of this research, we can 
understand the role of local agricultural knowledge of middleaged and elderly people, due to being influenced by local 
culture, norms, traditions, values and human-nature relations, 
and the experience and knowledge that comes from 
geographical, economic, and social location. and the culture of 
Taleghan and its suburbs; became
Conclusion: The results of the research also show that due to 
the neglect of the local knowledge of the middle-aged and 
elderly, and the lack of proper management to identify needs, 
planning and decision-making, and the lack of participation of 
the villagers, they have faced many economic, social and 
environmental problems. Is. that by using information and 
communication technology (ICT) together with indigenous 
knowledge of agriculture to empower and increase people's 
participation and spread and exchange local experiences of 
middle-aged and elderly people towards the real goals of 
sustainable development in Taleghan and its suburbs.
