Abstract
Purpose: Non-communicable diseases are known as the main
cause of death in the world, and having a healthy lifestyle in
adulthood is vital to prevent most non-communicable diseases.
Your lifestyle depends on personality factors and
environmental factors. Among the personality factors,
extroversion and introversion are considered one of the most
important personality traits in the formation of daily activities.
This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the
relationship between personality traits and behaviors related to
lifestyle.
Materials and Methods: In a cross-sectional study, the data
of 508 Iranian patients from medical centers were analyzed to
examine personality characteristics from the Eysenck
Personality Questionnaire (EPI) and to examine lifestyle from
the Life Style Questionnaire (LSQ). used.
Findings: The results showed that in the LSQ scale, extroverts
scored higher than introverts and had a healthier lifestyle. For
example, we found that extroverts with an average score of
11.23±4.28 (p=0.01) are more likely to exercise, or that there
is a difference between extroversion and social health and
mental health, respectively, with an average score of
15.80±4.32 (p<0.01). ) and 12.86±3.22 (p<0.01) there was a
positive and significant relationship. Also, there was a
significant negative relationship between extroversion and the
possibility of accidents, so that extroverts are less involved in
accidents than introverts (16.33±3.83.)
Conclusion: The results show that extroversion/introversion
can play a very important role in the formation of lifestyle.
