Abstract
Purpose: Conflict is the most common problem in couples' relationships, and the inability to solve it may damage the family and even lead to divorce. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of emotional literacy and spiritual compatibility in predicting marital conflicts among married women.
Materials and Methods: The current research was descriptive-correlational. The population included all married women referring to the health centers of Bandar Abbas city in the second six months of 2022, of which 360 people were selected by available sampling method. The data collection tools included emotional literacy scale by Kimiaei et al. (2011), spiritual compatibility by Rasoli et al. To analyze the data, Pearson's correlation test and multiple regressions were used with the help of SPSS version 21 software.
Findings: The results showed that the relationship between emotional literacy (r = -0.515) and spiritual compatibility (r = -0.570) with marital conflicts was negative and significant (p < 0.01). And the variables of emotional literacy and spiritual adaptation had the ability to predict 38.9% of changes in marital conflicts.
Conclusion: Family counselors and even couples should pay special attention to the role of emotional literacy and spiritual compatibility in trying to reduce marital conflicts and do the necessary planning and training in this field.
