Purpose: Being unsupervised has always had negative psychological and educational effects on adolescents, so the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the role of resilience and emotional inhibition in the psychological well-being of unsupervised teenage girls in Tehran.
Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population of this research was all the adolescent girls of the city of Tehran covered by the welfare organization in 2021-2022, and 300 people were selected by available sampling method. The data collection tools included Connor and Davidson's (2003) resilience questionnaires, Roger and Nashover's (1987) emotional inhibition and Riff's (1989) psychological well-being questionnaires. Data analysis was done using Pearson correlation test and multiple regressions with SPSS version 24 software.
Findings: The results showed that the relationship between resilience and psychological improvement (r=0.48) is positive and significant, but the relationship between emotional inhibition and psychological improvement (r=0.69) was negative and significant (P<0.05). And the predictor variables explain a total of 67% of the variance of psychological improvement.
Conclusion: The results of the research show the importance of the role of resilience and emotional inhibition in improving the psychological well-being of adolescent girls.
