The Relationship between Self-Hypnosis and Five Major Personality Factors with Anxiety in Iranian Entrance Exam Candidates

Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to predict the relationship between self-hypnosis and five major personality factors with anxiety in Iranian entrance exam candidates.
Materials and Methods: The present study population was all candidates in mathematics and experimental fields applying for the Iranian entrance exam in the academic year 2020-2021. The sampling method of the present study was a multi-stage cluster that was selected using Krejcie and Morgan (1987) table of a sample of 460 people. In the present study, the Stanford Self-Hypnosis Scale Questionnaire (1), the Big Five Personality Factors Questionnaire, the Test Anxiety Scale, and the Anxiety Inventory were used to measure the dependent variables of the study.
Findings: The results of stepwise regression analysis of anxiety based on self-hypnosis and five major personality factors showed that six models of extraversion, acceptance, adjustment, conscientiousness, neuroticism and self-hypnosis together accounted for 43% of girls and 28% of boys with anxiety variance. they do.
Conclusion: Therefore, self-hypnosis is predicted through five major personality factors with anxiety and test anxiety in Iranian entrance exam candidates.
