Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a structural model for predicting academic achievement based on academic motivation, school enthusiasm and students' sense of belonging to the school mediated by academic achievement motivation.
Methods and Materials: The method of this study was descriptive-correlational which was performed in the form of path analysis model. The statistical population of the study consisted of male high school students in districts 2 and 5 of Tehran. To determine the sample size, the principles of determining the sample size in structural equation modeling were used and 604 people were selected as the sample, which were selected using multi-stage cluster random sampling method. Data were collected based on progress motivation questionnaire, academic motivation questionnaire, school motivation questionnaire, students 'sense of belonging to school and students' total grade point average. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the questionnaires were 0.83, 0.80, respectively. 0.72 and 0.86 were obtained and their face and content validity were confirmed using the opinion of experts. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and AMOS software.
Findings: The results of path analysis showed that the research model fits the collected data in an acceptable and excellent way and the conceptual model of the research was approved. Based on the results, all direct and total coefficients between the independent variables with the motivation of academic achievement in the model are statistically significant and the five main path coefficients between the variables in the model are at the level of 0.05.
Conclusion:  The findings showed that the path coefficient between academic motivation and school motivation with academic achievement is not statistically significant in the model, but outside the model, the path coefficients between academic motivation and school motivation with academic achievement are significant.
