Investigating the Impact of Political Events and Ethnocentrism on the Social Cohesion

Abstract
Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of political events and ethnicity on social cohesion in 2019-20.
Materials and Methods: Using the survey method is descriptive and analytical. The statistical population of the study included all male and female citizens aged 15 to 65 years in Andimeshk. According to the population living in the city of Andimeshk (135,000 people) Cochran's formula was calculated to 384 people by simple multi-stage cluster sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire that measured various dimensions (social cohesion, ethnicity and political events). used.
Findings: The research findings showed that from the perspective of citizens, ethnicity was able to explain 43.2%, political events were able to explain 32.6%, changes in social cohesion. From the citizens' point of view, ethnic groups with a beta coefficient of 0.565 have a more significant relationship than political events with a beta coefficient of 0.566 with social cohesion. From the citizens' point of view, the significance level of the variable of ethnic groups and political events is equal to 0.000, because this value is less than 0.05. There is a significant social relationship.
Conclusion: Considering the positive sign of regression coefficient, it can be said that ethnic groups have a positive and direct relationship with social cohesion
