Abstract
Aims Islamic lifestyle is related to all aspects of the life of individuals and has a major impact on personality and mental health of individuals. This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the correlation between lifestyle and happiness among athletes in Isfahan. Instruments & Methods This is descriptive-correlational research. The statistical population consisted of 200 athletes, who were active in sports clubs of Isfahan province in 2018. Out of athletes who exercised at least 3 days a week, 20 male and female athletes in volleyball, basketball, futsal, and swimming fields were randomly selected. The Kaviani Islamic Lifestyle Survey and the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire were used. The data were analyzed by SPSS 22 software, using Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression. Findings There was a positive and significant correlation between the mean scores of Islamic lifestyle and happiness of the athletes (r=0.63; p=0.001). Worshipful life could significantly explain 17% of the variance of happiness in the first step, 22% along with the sinfulness variable in the second step, and 24% along with the inherent characteristics in the third step (p=0.001). Conclusion Having an Islamic lifestyle has a positive effect on the happiness and mental health of athletes
