Designing and Validation of the Communication Model Between Industry and Education in the Age of Knowledge (Qualitative)

Abstract
Purpose: The main purpose of this research is to design and validate the
model of communication between industry and education in the age of
knowledge.
Materials and Methods: This research is one of the qualitative researches,
which is applied in terms of its basic purpose and descriptive-survey in
terms of its method. The statistical community of the research includes
academic experts and industrial owners. To determine the samples, a
targeted non-random sampling method was used, and 20 people were
considered as the sample size using the principle of saturation. The profile
of the interviewees included 7 university managers, 8 industrial owners and
5 university faculty members. Semi-structured interviews were used in this
research. . In order to ensure the validity of the instrument in the qualitative
part of the research and to ensure the accuracy of the findings from the
researcher's point of view, the valuable opinions of professors familiar with
this field and university experts who were experts and informed in this field
were used. In the current research, retest reliability and intrasubject
agreement method were used to calculate the reliability of the conducted
interviews. The method of data analysis was theoretical coding derived
from the foundational data theorizing method.
Findings: The results of the analysis show that among the 141 indicators
(items) available, 33 main components could be identified. The identified
components include communication through legal policy, rotational
communication, collaborative research and technology transfer as key
factors, management factors, infrastructure factors, educational factors and
information technology governance as influential factors, as well as
educational quality components, organizational innovation as factors.
Effects or outcomes were identified.
Conclusion: In addition, mechanisms were identified in the form of
managerial factors, technological and behavioral development, platforms
in the form of behavioral, environmental and social factors, and barriers in
the form of technological education, technological and educational support
factors.
