Purpose:To investigate the role of key components of
business intelligence in the decision-making style of
managers of organizations in the Islamic Republic of Iran
and tried to investigate what are the key components of
business intelligence? What are its core objectives and to
what extent does the establishment of a business
intelligence process help achieve these objectives? It also
sought to determine the effect of business intelligence on
each of the components of managers' decision-making
style and, based on that, to extract the role of business
intelligence components in decision-making style.
Materials and Methods: In a qualitative and quantitative
combination, described the status of establishing business
intelligence in the target community. Accordingly, the
research was conducted in two steps. First, a series of indepth interviews with experts and managers were
conducted. During the analysis of these interviews,
business intelligence indicators, goals and decisionmaking components were extracted and finally, by
compiling a questionnaire and review in the target
community, the model of business intelligence impact on
decision-making was extracted and its validity and
reliability were assessed from different angles.
Findings: The research identified the key components of
data sources, extraction, transmission and loading, data
warehousing, metadata, query tools, reporting and data
analysis for business intelligence.
Conclusion: The study showed that the establishment of
business intelligence pursues the basic goals of access to
data sources, data content quality, data integrity, access
quality and analysis capabilities. Finally, on accuracy,
precision, cost-effectiveness of decisions, ease of
decision making and reduction The risk of the
organization is involved and the model is extracted.
