Predicting the Life Satisfaction Components (Family, Friends, University, Life Environment and Self) based on the Communication Skills in the Students of Islamic Azad University

Abstract
Purpose: Student's life satisfaction plays an important role in
their other functions. As a result, the present study was
conducted with the aim of predicting life satisfaction
components based on the communication skills in the students
of Islamic Azad University.
Materials and Methods: The present study was a descriptive
from type of correlation. The research population was the
students of Islamic Azad University of Tehran city in the
academic years of 2019-2020 whit number of 190000 people.
The sample size was 384 people who were selected by multistage cluster sampling method. Data were collected by the
communication skills test-revised (Queendom, 2004) and
student's life satisfaction scale (Huebner, 1991) and analyzed
by methods of Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple
regression whit enter model in SPSS-19 software.
Findings: The findings showed that the communication skills
components included ability to receive and send messages,
emotional control, listening skills, insight into the
communication process and communication with
assertiveness had a positive and significant relationship with
all life satisfaction components included family, friends,
university, life environment and self in students. Other
findings showed that communication skills significantly could
predict 43% of family changes, 53% of friends changes, 30%
of university changes, 44% of life environment changes and
54% of self changes in students (P<0.001).
Conclusion: The results indicated the predicting of life
satisfaction components based on the communication skills.
As a result, to improve and enhance students' life satisfaction
can be increased their communication skills through
workshops
