Predicting the Intergenerational Social Mobility of Women based on the Components of Cultural Capital (the Level of Participation in Group Activities, the Level of Access to Cultural Resources and the Level of Cultural Tendencies)

Abstract
Purpose: Considering the importance of intergenerational social 
mobility in women, the present research was conducted with the aim 
of predicting the intergenerational social mobility of women based 
on the components of cultural capital.
Materials and Methods: This study was applied in terms of 
purpose and descriptive in terms of correlation type. The research 
community of women in Arak city in 1400 was 17496 people, which 
was determined based on Cochran's formula, the sample size was 
379 people, who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling 
method. The research tool included demographic information form, 
researcher-made questionnaires and face-to-face interviews, and the 
aim was to measure social mobility. were intergenerational and 
cultural capital, whose face validity and content validity were 
confirmed by the opinion of experts and reliability was calculated 
for both parts of the questionnaire using the Cronbach's alpha 
method of 0.74. The data were analyzed using the Pearson 
correlation coefficient method and regression in SPSS software.
Findings: The findings showed that cultural capital (r=0.718) and 
all its three dimensions including social dimension (r=0.693), 
technology dimension (r=0.587) and individual dimension 
(r=0.561) It had a positive and significant relationship with the 
intergenerational social mobility of women (P<0.001). Also, 
cultural capital and all three of its components separately could 
predict 51.5 and 73.2 percent of the changes in intergenerational 
social mobility of women (P<0.001).
Conclusion: According to the findings of this research, with the 
increase of cultural capital, the intergenerational social mobility of 
women increases. Based on this, it is possible to provide the ground 
for the improvement and promotion of cultural capital and its 
components in order to witness the increase in the upward social 
mobility of women.
