Abstract
Democracy and collective identity belief are major issues in contemporary sociology. In Iran, too, the debate on these issues began at the same time as the constitutional movement and has continued to this day. Due to the multi-ethnic nature of Iranian society and global developments, such issues have become increasingly important today. The existing research has been conducted in this direction to examine people's attitudes towards democracy and its relationship with their collective identity among people over 18 years of age in Bushehr. In the theoretical intermediate part, in addition to the macro perspective on the subject, an appropriate framework at the micro level based on some theories related to attitude, democracy and identity has been used to conduct research. The research was a survey using a questionnaire among 1000 people in Bushehr. The statistical population was all people over 18 years old in Bushehr. The results show that there is a significant relationship between age, gender, marriage, and economic status, place of residence and attitudes toward democracy. There is also a significant relationship between the components of collective identity belief and attitudes toward democracy.
