The Effectiveness of Spiritual Intelligence on Mental Strength and Psychological Health of Students

Abstract
Purpose: Improving the psychological health of students and its effective factors, including mental strength, has been one of the important categories in psychology and psychiatry, so the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of spiritual intelligence on the mental strength and psychological health of students.
Materials and Methods: The present study was a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test type with a control group. The research population included all ninth-grade female students of Ahvaz city in the academic year of 2021-2022, 30 eligible people were selected by available sampling method and randomly placed in two control and experimental groups (15 people in each group); And they responded to the mental strength questionnaires of Clough et al. (2002) and psychological health of the World Health Organization (2002). People in the experimental group were included in eight spiritual intelligence training sessions, but the control group did not receive any intervention. SPSS version 22 software and univariate analysis of covariance were used to analyze the data.
Findings: The results indicated the effectiveness of spiritual intelligence training in increasing the mental strength and psychological health of students in the post-exam stages (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Spiritual intelligence, by increasing flexibility, self-awareness and strengthening the individual's belief system, improves mental strength and psychological health of students and can be used as an educational method to improve students' mental health.
